The Bureau of Soils and Water Management held its First Quarter Physical and Financial Performance Assessment last April 18-19, 2022 at the BSWM Lopez Convention Hall.

This activity aims to assess and measure the level of performance of the bureau’s PAPs in terms of performance vis-à-vis targets for the first quarter. Further, it aims to discuss in plenary the accomplishments for the first quarter BSWM PAPs for FY 2022, identify and discuss challenges encountered, issues and concerns, lessons learned, and catch-up plan on the project implementation both current and continuing, and to formulate set of agreements and strategies as ways forward.

The activity started with a prayer led by Almera B. Ragodon of the Planning and Monitoring Section followed by the delivery of Welcome Remarks by our Assistant Director for Operations and Research, Dr. Gina P. Nilo, and followed by the presentation of Rationale and Activity Flow by Ms. Sarah Suministrado, Head of Budget Section. After the presentation of the Rationale and Activity Flow, Dir. Pablo M. Montalla delivered his Opening Message.

In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to everyone for performing beyond the expectations in order to fulfill the bureau’s vocation for the nation. Dir. Montalla ended his speech by saying, “May we always set in our minds that what we are doing shall be in line with the Department of Agriculture’s thrust, being a part of the One DA Family, aligned with the goal of attaining a food-secure and the resilient Philippines with empowered and prosperous farmers and fisherfolk.”

The Divisions, Centers and Organic Agriculture Program (OAP) presented their respective 1st Quarter accomplishments followed by plenary discussion of issues and concerns. After the presentations of accomplishments, Ms. Cathlyn Dela Torre, Planning Officer II, presented the agreements and synthesis of the two-day meeting.

To cap this event, Dr. Evelyn C. Fernando delivered her Closing Remarks. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who made the assessment possible. She also mentioned that she looks forward to the midyear assessment to check on the improvements and accomplishments of the targets.
